Here comes the sun! As flowers begin to bloom, Greensboro begins to boom with a fantastic outdoor activities, music festivals and food and beer events.

Lucky for us there’s certainly no shortage of delightful things to do in the area as the weather warms. We’ve put together a list of our favorite spring events in Greensboro to help you leave the winter blues behind.

Spring Fest

What better way to start the new season than by kicking it old-school at Spring Fest? Relive the days of real R&B music and dance all night long April 14 at Greensboro Coliseum.

Fill your ears with bass and soulful lyrics and welcome in the springtime with multi-platinum award winning Ginuwine, Frankie Beverly of Maze and other big names of the 90s.

MerleFest

Who says you have to wait until summer for great outdoor music festivals? Put on your dancing shoes and hit MerleFest April 27-30! Live music, dance, instrument classes, jam sessions… America’s top roots-based music festival is a can’t-miss spring event in Greensboro!

This year the lineup includes popular musical groups including Zac Brown Band and The Avett Brothers. Join one of the Transatlantic Sessions as folk musicians come together and jam. This 30th celebration of MerleFest is sure to be one heck of a good time!

Groovin’ in the Garden

To unwind outdoors, we can’t think of a better way than Groovin’ in the Garden. Enjoy an afternoon of live musical performances in Greensboro’s new Gateway Gardens on April 30.

Take in 11 acres of stunning horticultural mastery as you soak in live jazz music. There’s fun for the entire family, including an instrument “petting zoo” and Garden Quest. Come hungry, because you won’t want to miss out on delicious bites from the various food trucks and vendors!

Crescent Rotary’s Boil & Bru

It’s possible that no other state loves beer as much as North Carolina. With over 180 local breweries, it’s no wonder that we celebrate North Carolina Beer Month in April. Among the many homegrown beer tastings, food pairings and beer dinners is the 2nd Annual Crescent Rotary’s Boil & Bru April 7.

We love this true low country boil experience in downtown Greensboro. Enjoy delicious southern food, local libations, and live music under the stars. Feast on all-you-can-eat shrimp and try a variety of craft beers brewed right here in Greensboro. After all, you can put your New Year resolutions on hold until next year, right? Plus, you can indulge without feeling guilty because your entire ticket purchase goes towards funding local charities and causes.

Grasshoppers Baseball Season Opener

You don’t have to be a sports fan to enjoy watching Greensboro Grasshoppers take to the baseball diamond for another season. We recommend going to the Hoppin Fun Season Opener on April 6 to root for the home team. Dollar beers, sodas and waters will keep you happy and hydrated while you soak up the sun. Give adulting a break, grab some peanuts and enjoy a day at the ballpark. We always make a point to get a picture with Guilford the giant grasshopper!

All of these spring events in Greensboro are just a short drive from Revolution Mill Apartments. If you’re in the area, stop by to check out our new community. We promise you’ll never want to leave. We’re always more than happy to show you around. You can also schedule a tour online or give us a call at (844) 816-7095 .
